When editing a text comment, it changes to a single long line.

I create a text comment. Then I grab its handles and make its bounding box the size I want. This is the result.

Then I edit the text. As soon as I do so, the text springs out to one long line (it's no longer line wrapped as in the image above). This is frustrating because the reason I set the text to the bounding box as above is that otherwise my comment extends over the existing text in my pdf, making my comment hard to read. So I readjust its box so it's entirely within my margin. But when it's one long line, it's hard to edit because it's now on top of my pdf's existing text.

Even worse, once I've made *any* edit, my original box is lost. The text is now in a new box that is long enough to contain the entire comment on one line (notice, though, that it has the same height as my original box.) This new box persists even after I'm done editing.

This behavior makes it extremely difficult to work with text comments. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting that needs to be checked?
