Add Note to Replace Text

I am using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Version 2017.012.20098 via Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6

I have a document that I have been editing for some weeks using the COMMENT tools. A mac glitch required a forced restart while the Adobe Document was open.

On re-access of the Adobe document I can still see the red & blue lines for 'strikethrough text' and 'add note to replace text' but I no longer see any of the replacement text in the side panel associated with the blue 'add note to replace text', rather it's seems to be acting only as the red 'strikethrough text' does.

I'd very much appreciate any assistance with recovering the notes added via the 'add note to replace text' tool.
