override a caption link?

I need to make comments (like strike-through text, for example) in a section of text in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC that is an active caption. But when I click in the caption to make my comment, it activates the link to send me to the figure within the document. I can delete that link to the figure and then do the commenting, but is this the only way to get around the link? Thanks.
