Reviewers receive doc but can't join review

So unbelievably frustrated right now. Just spent 30 minutes on hold for Adobe chat support, 25 minutes answering probing questions pertaining to my serial number and the legality of my licence (yes it's legal, move on) and then I got CUT OFF AND CHAT SAYS IT'S CLOSED.

Zero out of ten for customer service, Adobe.

My problem:

I have Acrobat Pro. Colleagues have Acrobat Reader. We're all on the latest version. We're all running Windows 7 Pro. I send a PDF around for shared review, hosted on a company drive that is accessible by all, but it's included in the email as an attachment.

One of the reviewers can successfully open, comment, and publish his comments.

At least two other users can't. They receive the document, they open the document, and it's not recognised as a review doc, just as a standard PDF. They have nothing listed in their Tracker, and the top item in the left-hand sidebar is the page icon - they don't have an icon with a speech bubble and green plus, and they don't have the yellow review ribbon across the top.

I have tried resending the document to them. I've tried adding them in as new reviewers. Their Adobe IDs match the email address at which they received the document.

Why can't they do the review? Why can one user do it successfully but several others just aren't recognised by the same document as reviewers? In my Tracker, they are listed as reviewers, using the same email address as their Adobe ID.

Help, fellow users of Adobe! The company has forsaken me, can you lead me out of this electronic desert?

Thanks in advance!
