Saved as Reflow?

Hi,

 

I've been using Adobe Acrobat to edit (via comments function) a pdf that was saved from a LaTex file. All was going well, until I got to the very last chapter of the book, where I seem to have slipped up with a shortcut? i had been using the shift+command+4 function to screenshot the pages, and had slipped up a few times, in using caps lock+command+4, which changed the format of the page, and I later learned was the command+4, reflow function.

 

Each time I did this, I just pressed the same buttons again, and it went back to the original format. Adobe support tells me that the reflow cannot be saved, yet somehow, following work on this chapter yesterday, I opened it today and it looked like this:

I don't want it to show all the comments like this, and with no spaces between words! But now, because it has been saved, it doesn't give me any options to change this format! Can anyone offer any advice, or do I have to go back to square one with this document .

After recent upgrade, "Comments" no longer work

After installing the most recent upgrade in Acrobat Pro XI, Comments and Editing tools no longer work.  The comments will be saved in the Comments List only, but disappear from the screen (and the document view) once you enter or move your cursor.   This is obviously something caused by the update because our earlier version that has not been upgraded still works.  Anyone else having these issues?

I keep getting a 'bad file handle' in Adobe Acrobat DC when I try and save a pdf I have made comments on. I am then unable to save it and have to close it and all my comments are lost. I need to know why this keeps happening and how to stop it happening, but - right now - I want to know if I can retrieve the pdf with comments that I've created over the last 2 hours. I can't get it via our technical support as I cannot restore a previous version as it wasn't backed up within the time period.

Shared Review Comments Appear different depending on Adobe Version

When performing a shared review, comments appear differently to users depending on their version of Adobe. This is an issue since we are a large Agency that may have a shared review with a lot of different individuals in different locations that may not all have the same version of Adobe. For example in some instances comments by someone using Adobe Pro DC 2018 either appear differently (such as a different color/ opacity), get cut off, or don't appear at all for a user using Adobe Pro DC 2015. In many instances this leads to a reviewer unaware that there comments are appearing differently or not all. Is there a solution to avoid this and be sure that all comments for all users are appearing the same, regardless of their version of Adobe?

Text Box Padding

Is there a way to decrease the text box padding.  If I choose no border line, the padding is reduced to nothing.  However, with a line, even .5, there is much more padding between the text and the border than I want.  I would like the border to be tighter to the text.

 

I am using the latest Acrobat DC in CC on Windows 10.

Shared review - a network connect cannot be created

I had a previous version of Adobe installed and I have created multiple shared reviews without issue.  After the update, I am able to add my sharepoint folder with the same web address but after adding email recipients I get a message that says "The shared folder location you provided is not set up correctly to store comments for the shared review.  The problem is: A network connection could not be created." 

 

I've never had this issue before.  How can I resolve it?  I have tried to repair installation and it has not resolved the issue.

we have shortcuts for comment tool (S), textbox tool, but why not one for Add text tool? or did i miss it out? I'm on acrobat XI pro right now.please advise!

Comments disappearing.

I have the latest update of Acrobat Pro DC, but still any comments I make on any document disappear instantly.  If I hover the cursor over the area where the comment was made, I can see the box and then click on the comment, but as soon as I move out of it, the comment disappears again.  The comments patch/plug-in is enabled.  Help!  How do I get my comments visible?

Changing Properties for Shared Reviews

Our Adobe shared review was set up last year. I'd like to change some default settings (deadline, server, etc) but I can't find them. Can anyone help? (We have Acrobat Distiller 18.0 (Windows) Acrobat 7.0 at least that's how it's marked)

copy existing text into the replace text comment box

when i'm doing comments on a PDF, I often will have multiple edits within a sentence/paragraph. I would like to copy the existing text into the "Replace Text" field, edit it there ,and have the designer replace the entire block of copy rather than have them make multiple edits. It just seems more error prone to ask the designer to make 5 edits in a sentence instead of 1. But I also do not want to introduce a new error by retyping the entire block. Is this possible

all dots disappearing when using eraser in commenting

Alright, this issue happens at random times and I don't know what is wrong. So the problem is that when I use the eraser tool while commenting to erase a line or a stroke or anything it erases all dots I placed on the page. Please HELP!!!

Send second pdf via same "Send for Review" request

Can I send a new (corrected) pdf via the same "Send for Review" or do I have to create a whole new "Send for Review" request?

 

After comments are sent to me, I apply those comments and recreate the pdf. I would like to continue with the same (original) "Send for Review" request, rather than have to create a whole new request for my reviewers. This would also enable me to keep all of the notifications of edits in a single synopsis, rather than "draft 1" "draft 2" etc.

 

Is this doable?

For commenting on Acrobat CC, how do I change the commenting name from my log-in name to another, more user-friendly name? I tried unchecking the list, but my login name still appears. thank you for any help.

Adobe Reader Creates Popups for all highlights and spams my document with them

I've been highlighting text and creating popup notes on some of those highlights. I accidentally right-clicked a highlighted section and pressed "minimize pop-ups", then all my pop-up notes went away. I right-clicked the highlighted text again and pressed "open all-pops", this opened my pop-ups again but for some reason created and opened blank popups for every highlight I ever did in the entire document.

 

Now the whole document is a mess. Why is it creating and/or displaying popups for highlights which I did not create, nor add a note too, and how can I fix it? I'm using Adobe Reader DC on windows 10 desktop pc.

 

Also, Preferences > Commenting, "Automatically open comment pop-ups for comments other than notes" is turned off.

Soft hypen changes not showing in Acrobat DC PDF Compare Report

Hi Team

 

SUBJECT: DC compare PDF soft hypen changes not shown

 

Issue: While comparing the below mentioned 2 PDF in Acrobat DC

 

a. Soft hypen checking_FPP_CS6

b. Soft hypen checking_REV_CS6

 

In "Soft hypen checking_REV_CS6" there is soft hypen changes in First paragraph 3rd and 4th line, and in Second paragraph 3rd and 9th line.

In DC compare report it not showing the changes in both Textual and visual compare. I attached the DC compare report in the below mentioned folder

 

If we compare the same in Acrobat 7 Textual compare Side by side report in shows the error. I attached the Acrobat 7 compare report for your reference

Comment (sticky note) gets cut off when printing

I've updated drivers for all printers, repaired my adobe installation, completely reinstalled, rebooted, tried all default settings within Acrobat... nothing is working.

 

Please let me know what other information I need to provide to solve this issue. Thank you.

Is there a way to mark text in a large PDF file and pull out just the marked text?

I work at a law firm.  One of the attorneys has a very large PDF file (over 1,000 pages) that he needs to review and mark text.  He then needs to go back and pull out the marked text into another file.  Is this possible, and if so, how can it be done.
