Reducing leading (line spacing) on Typewriter Tool

In response to the above post @RichPasco and many other posts I have seen around the net, here it is.

Adjusting leading / line spacing for the Typewriter

I have come across the same issue as Rich in the above post, where there is a need for finer control of the line spacing / leading of the Typewriter than what is available in the toolbar. This can be adjusted in the Windows registry.

1. Close Acrobat/Reader

2. Click Start—>Run—>regedit

3. Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\%VersionNumber%\Annots\cAnnots\cFreeText_003aFreeTextTypewriter (Where %VersionNumber% is the version number of Acrobat i.e. 9.0, etc.)

4. Click the dlinespacing string value on the right.

5. Right-click to modify the Value. I would suggest leaving the equivalent trailing decimal points (6 total). Default it is set to 14.500000, so a whole number would be 14.000000. I'd recommend adjusting to suit your needs based on your font size. For a font size of 12, I would suggest the dlinspacing value of 8.000000.

6. Close regedit

7. Test

Please note I have only tested this on various versions of Acrobat 9 on Windows.
